So my friend Brooke (owner of www.brookelyntypes.blogspot.com) convinced me to get a blog. I'm actually pretty ecstatic about it, and I'm hoping that all you homies out there are as well. My life is jam packed full of spontaneous adventures, awkward moments, breathtaking travels, and lots and lots of plot twists.
My name is Tatum Elizabeth Kartchner. I'm sixteen and barely five-foot-two.. I'm spunky and free spirited and have lots of opinions about lots of different things. I love F. Scott Fitzerald, Nordstrom, dipping everything in ranch dressing, and deep conversations. I'm currently learning how to sew and recently I dyed my hair but I'm 95% sure it's already starting to fade. I also got a job but it's not my favorite thing in the world so let's make a bet to see how long that'll last. If I could have any car, it would be a 1960 cherry red Corvette Roadster, just like the one in Stuart Little. My mom runs a non profit organization, therefore I get lots of opportunities to travel abroad. I've been to London and Paris and Africa and I've been wanting to travel the globe ever since. I might be going to Dubai and India this summer; but who even knows. I want to get my associates degree in Visual Communications to become a stylist and then go on to complete my bachelors in Professional Studies to become a trend analyst, which is someone who travels the world predicting the newest clothing trends. Cause if you didn't know I absolutely adore clothes and fashion and everything in between. I appreciate good music, good books, and good art. I love pretty much everyone. You all rock my socks off.
But I'm gonna recap this last week. So I worked Monday and then on Thursday I played hookie and stayed home from school just cause I have some rebel tendencies. But on Thursday I was feeling a little down, so I decided to drive myself to the Dollar Tree and purchase a balloon with a smiley face. Then I wrote a note and taped it to the balloon. The note contained things for me to know and for you to never find out.
Jk, I wrote all the things I need to let go of in my life. Cause we all have things that we carry around with us and if we hold onto them for too long, it definitely becomes unhealthy.
But then I went to Discovery Park (right across from the Gilbert Temple where us crazy Mormons had the Cultural Celebration last March in the pouring rain) and released that cute little smiley faced balloon and watched it float up into the sky and out of my life forever. It was a bittersweet moment :))))))
Nothing really noteworthy took place on Friday except it rained cats and dogs and I carried around my fashionable bubble umbrella all around the Highland High campus while getting lots of feedback, ranging from "that's the cutest umbrella I've ever seen" to "that umbrella looks like a spaceship"
Last night I was reunited with Brooke, who helped me make this blog. Afterwards we picked up Lyric and went to Walmart to meet up with more people and had a photo shoot and I'm aware that it sounds awfully weird.
Eventually we found ourselves at Sonic with Brooke's selfie stick.
I also witnessed one of my friends get her first kiss (not naming names). The only thing more romantic than a first kiss in the Sonic parking lot is a first kiss in the back of a mini van. (Yes that was my unfortunate yet true experience and once again I'm not naming names)
To top the night off, me and Brooke watched Moulin Rouge until I fell asleep in her bed. It was one heck of a weekend you guys.
I have hereby decided to end every post with a quote that relates to my present life.
"New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings." -Lao Tzu
Sometimes, things don't always turn out the way we want it to. But don't let that stop you from going on and doing amazing things! So get up, buy yourself a smoothie and remember to let yourself move to the next chapter of your life.
Until next time!
Xoxo
Yay I'm glad that I was able to help you make this and that I saw you this weekend. You rock little lady ily
